| I was born in Mexico City, the records place me in the “fifty something” group. I have always thought that people’s age is defined, not by the skin but by the heart that shows us the way we look at the world, life, the people we love... the work we do!!.My love for painting has existed since I was a little girl and since then, between doings and wrongdoings I have never stopped painting, although some people that know me say that they have been very few years since I “work for real” (whatever it means), that is why my resume is not that long, which is something that doesn’t worry me much because at the end, is my work that finally defines me as an artist and nothing else. My painting comes from my own personal need to express ideas, emotions and feelings that otherwise would be very difficult to say, consequently, the painting becomes the best way I know to say all that I want... I am aware and recognize myself through my work and at the same time pretend that people who see my work will do the same. The color palette that I use is of strong colors (most of the time), I like the colors that make the painting “vibrate”, those that somehow shock you visually; the formats I use are are not small (45X 45 inches, average), maybe to reinforce that same idea, is like the canvases were never big enough to put in them all my toughts and feelings. The impact that I pretend to cause in the viewers is like that of love (or hate) at first sight, I don’t want to let them think, I want my message to go straight to their emotions... straight to their hearts! | |
