Trinidad Ball Paintings
Born in Barcelona, of Catalan parents, I have lived in Spain, Latin America and the United Kingdom, where I now reside. I have had a number of jobs, including Probation Officer, from which I resigned in 2003 to dedicate myself to art.I started painting in 1997 and I quickly became "addicted" to this art. I describe my style as "Contemporary Realism". In my approach I seek to celebrate the uniqueness of the object. This, I strongly believe can only be achieved by painting with the attention to detail characteristic of realist painting. Through lengthy observation I get to know the qualities of my objects in intimate detail. I keep my backgrounds simple and I play with light and shadows to emphasise their uniqueness and characteristics. Through the application of many thin layers of diluted paint I work towards giving my paintings depth and luminosity thus creating images which are more real than life.

Artist's Statement:
The last couple of years have been very exciting for me and my art. I have started exhibiting abroad. I have joined Skylark, a collective of artists who manage their own gallery and represent their own work. I have also joined SAL (Spanish Artists in London), a group of Spanish artists who aim to broadcast Spanish art and culture to London audiences.I have also recently started attending a number of art fairs and have been particularly pleased with the public's reaction to my work and the opportunity to talk to prospective buyers directly about my art.
