Stuart Haden Photography
Stuart Haden was born in 1942 in Aberdeen, Scotland. He won the Art Prize at St. Christopher's Preparatory School in Wembley Park and the Art Prize at the John Lyon School, Harrow on the Hill.
After school he studied at the Hammersmith College of Art and Building, from 1961 to 1964, and the Architectural Association from 1964 to 1970. From 1973 to 1977 he taught architectural design at the Mackintosh School, Glasgow School of Art, and then at the University of Texas in Austin from 1977 to 1979. While in Austin, he began to concentrate on photography, studying under Garry Winogrand. Four of his colour photographs received an Honourable Mention in the 12th National Photographic Competition in 1979, judged by William Eggleston. He also received an Honourable Mention in the Camden Society of Architects Photographic Competition 1984, judged by Fay Godwin, John Donat and Leonard Manasseh, for five black & white photographs.

Stuart only photographs in black and white and is available to photograph anywhere. He is available for commissions to photograph people, buildings, landscapes, transport and events anywhere in the UK.

55.00 per hour + 80p per mile + 15.00 per 4"x6" print + 11.00 film or 450.00 per day.
Artist's Statement:
The way in which I make portrait photographs is to accompany a person all day and make photographs candidly without any posing. I like my subjects to feel completely at ease and the best photographs are made when they are doing exactly what they generally do during the course of a day either at work or at leisure.
