Artist's Statement:
Mr. Lupinsky is a contemporary artist who explores various ways to express themes through colors and lines. As Kandinsky once stated, "color is the key. The eye is the hammer. The soul is the piano with its many cords. The artist is the hand that, by touching this or that key, se! The soul vibrating automatically. Contemporary artist Paul Lupinsky mirrors these sentiments and travels perhaps further in exploring the use of music and dance as a visual metaphor dedicated to most of his themes. The actors and the instruments are inter-posed, creating au organic and harmonious union. The figures have a touch of ornamentals, complimenting the delicate form of the well-treated instruments. At the same time, clean lines and sharp silhouettes affect the sense that Mr. Lupinsky has brilliantly and carefully constructed his compositions. The architecture of each piece is finely articulated and beautifully rendered, juxtaposing circular planes and linear motifs to create a sense of movement within each painting. The settings of these vibrant scenes are to transport the viewer into a state in which the musical and the visual are inextricably linked. We as the audience enjoy the privilege of being witness to the relationship between the inherent energy of melodic sound waves and the musicians and dancers that they animate and inspirit.
