| Parastoo Mahmoudi Paintings |
| Parastoo is an Iranian artist, born in 1976 in Tehran currently Dubai, UAE resident. In 1996, she started practising how to see and draw objects. She studied under Manouchehr Motabar’s studio for almost a year, learning primary drawing skills. Her interests led her to learn the anatomy of the human body. For the next 7 years she dedicated herself to the study of human forms under Maryam Mahin’s and Mohammad Hossein Maher’s studios; drawing and sculpting life models, and experiencing different media and styles.Later, her ambition became to express her thoughts, surroundings and the character of the people around her. One of her experiences in this field is her ‘Chair’ collection.The magical link between a person’s face and character led her to study portraits in great detail for 2 years, drawing and painting life models. She pursued this by drawing and painting expressive portraits of imaginary characters. |
