| Artist's Statement: | |
| Nerjit’s enthusiasm for glass has led her to explore all the glass techniques thoroughly. She has specialised in hand blown glass as this is the most demanding skill to master. Having become highly competent in this area she then started to combine blown glass with kiln-formed glass, stained glass and cold worked glass. Pattern, texture and water are some of her main influences and these are apparent in her designs. Past projects have had diverse inspirational sources including Indian patterns, flowers, geology and the seasons. Each piece is designed, handmade and finished by Nerjit. She produces production pieces and exclusive one-offs. Due to the very nature of glass each piece will always be unique. Her work has naturally developed from being an interior accessory to large-scale installation. Her stylish designs now have pride of place in a growing number of environments. | |
