| Artist's Statement: |
| The materials I work with are primarily mild steel wire, anodised aluminium, stainless steel and recycled tin. I produce wall hung or free-standing sculptures, which depict life with a humorous twist. My work is inspired by memories of people and places, vibrant street scenes are evocative of any place where people inhabit. Coloured houses represent their occupants, giving each individual house a personality. Wire figures are walking, playing, sitting on benches and walking their dogs along winding pathways surrounded by flowers and fences...The free-standing pieces concerntrate more on domestic life, and what goes on behind closed doors...for example, domestic chores, DIY, Cooking etc...I am also very interested in depicting animals in a wire form, and have been experimenting making life size animals such as chickens, ducks and sheep etc...The paintings I produce are very similar to my wall sculptures of houses and people, the materials I use are acrylics, mixed media, and inks..I am available for commission work for the public and private sectors. |
