| After graduating in 1995 with a degree in Textile Design, I set up my own studio in Black Dog. My initial aim was to work in the medium of textile based art. However, as my work progressed I found that painting itself took over and has done so ever since. I have worked mostly to commission until 2003 when I started exhibiting. Living and working in such a beautiful rural situation provides me with endless source material. Many of my paintings are of places often only a few steps away from my studio. My aim is to capture this intense beauty with all its drama and changing light. I also enjoy the challenge of painting the working life of this rural community. | |

| I am in the fortunate position of working alongside two painters, my father Robin and my brother Rupert. I find that this is a very special working situation; each of us has the passion for painting yet by chance in completely different subjects. Robin has been a marine painter for the last 38 years where as Rupert’s interest lies in portraits and figure compositions. My passion has always been for the landscape that I see all around me. I am immersed in it and it in me. Nothing else is needed. | |
