Artist's Statement:
Julie produces innovative, functional pieces that are a pleasure to use as well as an aesthetic addition to the space they occupy. Her design and technical skills can be applied to a wide range of outcomes from domestic tableware to ceremonial pieces and architectural metalwork. The concerns repeated throughout Julie's work are space, proportion, line, balance and the relationship between the object and the surface it sits on. She uses primarily silver combining it, when appropriate, with other materials such as brass, stainless steel or glass.
