Artist's Statement:
As a figurative painter my work falls into a tradition which values direct, intimate observation and honesty in depicting the world as it is seen - My subjects include portraits, landscapes, interiors and still lifes of favourite objects. Subjects are characterised by an investigative, questioning search for a form of truth. I aim to reflect this intimate search in my paintings and reveal something of the nature and character of the subject.
