Brandon Hall Paintings
Brandon Hall is a hard working artist of many trades who places equal emphasis on both aesthetic value and concept. After graduating in 2001 from West Genesee High School, Camillus, NY, Brandon was accepted to study Illustration at The Maryland Institute College Of Art (MICA) in Baltimore, MD. In the spring of 2005 he received his BFA in Illustration from MICA after training with some of today’s most prestigious and innovative Illustrators. From this training, Brandon began to develop a unique style and process of working that fused mixed media and collage techniques. He then proceeded to further his education and in the spring of 2006 Brandon received his Masters Degree from MICA in Art Education. He has shown his work in such galleries as the Pinkard, Meyerhoff and Main building galleries of MICA as well as the Maryland Art Place (MAP) of downtown Baltimore, MD. In the spring of 2006 Brandon's work was published in a California based "zine" entitled "Robotics II", where he had the pleasure of working with some of California's finest artistic voices. However, during this time Brandon was faced with a great life challenge. In April of 2006, weeks before receiving his Master’s Degree, Brandon fell ill and was diagnosed with Acute Lymphomic Leukemia (ALL). Once diagnosed, Brandon began a rigorous chemotherapy schedule that forced his art making days to be placed on hold. In June 2006 Brandon was announced to be in remission from his cancer, but would have another 2 1/2 years of intense chemotherapy to keep the Leukemia from possibly returning. In response to this, Brandon returned home to Camillus, NY in hopes of re-cooperating, staying in remission and finding afresh start. Today, Brandon is continuing his battle against cancer, but has found refuge in his artwork and has once again begun creating within his artist’s studio. In 2008 he exhibited his work in The Bohemian Beans Cafe, Gentiles Restaurant, Essential Kneeds Wellness Center, and The Orange Line gallery of Syracuse, NY. Brandon is working diligently on multiple freelance illustration/design assignments while living in Camillus, NY and is actively pursuing gallery exhibitions.
