Artist's Statement:
There is a quality of unreality and abstraction in Amanda Toy's work, so that even though there are identifiable subjects and figures, they mainitain a dreamlike and narrative quality. The concepts being portrayed through this quality are related to human exploration, either physical, mental or spiritual. Her emphasis is that each one of these explorations usually contains elements of all three.
