| Drawing from life is a thought process and a discipline that helps us consider the basic elements of painting such as space, volume, line and tone. But as we have to tell a story with every piece of work, I'm looking for a way to describe the energy of live performance. Paintings often come from drawings done in bars and dance rooms in Caracas, Venezuela, especially El Mani and the Fundación Bigott, Caracas and in Madrid, Spain, the flamenco centres Arte Jondo and Las Carboneras. Recently I have been drawing in Jazz clubs such as las Clamores, Madrid.I have been a member of Circulo de Dibujo, a group of professional artists dedicated to drawing in Caracas, Venezuela, since 2002. | |
